Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: the birthplace of America. Home to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall - where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed. So much history and some say a lot of ghosts. The Unexplained Cases team traveled to the City of Brotherly Love, to investigate several paranormal hotspots known to be haunted by the spirits from the Revolutionary War...of famous business owners and politicians...some really crazy dressed apparitions...and possibly a pirate, too! In our first of three investigations, we visit the world-famous Mummers Museum. Most parades have floats, pageant queens and marching bands, and then there is the annual Mummers Day Parade in Philly, which is wild and a lot of fun! The Mummers Parade is held every New Year's Day in Philadelphia. The first official parade was held January 1, 1901. The parade is related to the Mummers Play tradition from Britain and Ireland. You can see all of these lavish costumes and memorabilia at the Mummers Museum and maybe even a ghost Employees say they’ve had some strange encounters in the building. Our guide and host, Donna from Philly Ghost Hunt, has investigated this place many times, saying it is very active. We were in for a treat. The Museum allowed the Unexplained Cases team to check out the haunted third floor, a place where the public is rarely allowed. Our first stop was this old storage room and our equipment quickly started going off. The MelMeter was fluctuating up and down – and its RemPod function was going off, indicating something was hovering around it. What is crazy, I had just put a brand-new battery in the MelMeter and whatever was in the room with us was sucking the life out of it! It caused a mixture of lights and sounds. We also used our SB7 Spirit Box to communicate with spirits. It uses the white noise from radio frequencies to allow the dead to speak with the living. Donna used her dosing rods again and connected with what she believes were the spirits of Mummers dead and gone but still hanging out in the museum. But, it wasn’t just the equipment that stopped us in our tracks. For me, it was a strange sound, someone breathing that literally made the hair standup on my neck. It happened in another storage area on the third floor. I know what an AC or Heating unit sounds like and that ain’t it! Now, over in the nearby library area, the RemPod wouldn’t stay quiet. We got lots of hits with something skulking around it. We also ran into some strange interference on the SLS Camera, it wouldn’t shutdown and appeared to have someone unseen messing with it. Ghost, malfunction, a gremlin in the system? We’re not sure. But, we do know for a fact we’ve never had this problem before or since. Oddly enough, when we asked if someone was messing with the camera, Donna’s rods indicated they were. The Mummer’s Museum was fantastic and during our brief visit we seemed to make a few new ghostly friends.

Unexplained Cases | Baltimore Street Murder House

Written by:  Darren Dedo Case Filed:  06 /20/19 - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Executive Producer:  Rick Garner Battlefields, homes, pubs, and restaurants. Almost anywhere you go in Gettysburg you will come across a place that is supposedly haunted. It is very easy to understand why. Tens of thousands of men lost their lives here in this small Pennsylvania town in July of 1863. We visited one unassuming and haunted location that was here during the Battle of Gettysburg and was a casualty collection point just like many buildings were used for back then. It would make sense that the spirit who sets off ghost hunting gadgets in this Baltimore Street home fought and died in the Civil War. But, this resident spirit has no connection to the Battle of Gettysburg. Our guide for the evening, P aranormal Investigator Robert "Night Monkey" Simmons  with Gettysburg Paranormal Association / Gettysburg Ghost  Tours . He  shares with everyone the details.  “The morning of August 31, 198

Mystery of the Mothman | Unexplained Cases (2024)

Written by:  Rick Garner Case Filed: 2/19/24 Executive Producer:  Rick Garner   One of the cases we’ve always wanted to open is that of the Mothman. When it comes to urban legends, this guy takes the proverbial cake. He checks off all the boxes: cryptid, paranormal, interdimensional. And if not for this winged red-eyed creature, Point Pleasant, West Virginia might only be known for a tragic bridge collapse that occurred on December 15, 1967. The Silver Bridge collapsed during heavy rush-hour traffic, claiming 46 lives. Sightings of Mothman in 1966 and 67 linked the creature to the cause of the collapse, but an official investigation determined stress corrosion cracking in an eyebar led to the disaster. I had the chance to meet and speak with Steve Ward at the world famous Mothman Museum. On the subject of Mothman, Steve is an expert. Well, this is the world's only Mothman Museum. And it came about because of the sightings that took place back in the middle 60s. There were John

Field Reports from Priestley House - Canton, Mississippi

Written by: Jeff Rent Case Filed: 10/31/02 - Canton, Mississippi Executive Producer: Rick Garner At a glance, you can draw many parallels between the cities of Selma, Alabama, and Canton, Mississippi. Both are popular sites for Hollywood filmmakers. Both are full of historic antebellum mansions. And both seem to contain an abundance of ghost stories. The Priestley House in Canton is one of these homes where residents say they're living with spirits. Owner Frankie McMillan says, "I did not believe in ghosts before I moved here. I thought they were silly. And it took me a while living here to believe it."
